Parking Plan for GTC 2010

October 7, 2010

Georgia Theater Conference (GTC) – October 13-16, 2010

Parking Plan

Individual attendees driving their personal vehicles

Individuals attending the GTC and driving their personal vehicles will be allowed to park on campus without obtaining a temporary visitors pass. These guests should simply arrive on campus and find parking in one of the parking lots. Enforcement of parking regulations has been suspended for the duration of the GTC. However, this does not include Staff/Faculty parking, parking reserved for handicapped persons, or parking in designated “No Parking” areas. Regulations in these areas will be fully enforced. Attendees are reminded that registration for the GTC will take place in the lobby area of the Memorial College Center (MCC), located at the south end of North Science Drive. Parking directly in front of the MCC is mostly reserved for Faculty/Staff, so we recommend that individual attendees park in parking lots 1, 3 or 4 (see attached map of Armstrong campus).

Groups attending the GTC who are transported by bus

Groups brought to campus by bus should follow the protocol described below:

  • The designated bus entrance will be the intersection of Abercorn St/GA204 and Arts Drive.

  • Buses are to follow signs onto campus, head south on Arts Drive, turn west on Library Drive at the stop sign and then follow Library Drive as it curves to the left into parking lot 1.

  • Once in parking lot 1 follow the road around past the sports center on the left to the south-west corner of the parking lot where the drop-off point is located. This area will be marked and manned with a police officer and Student Parking Attendant who will provide directions.

  • Once the students and their teachers disembark they should proceed north through the parking lot, past the new student center on their right, and proceed to the MCC on North Science Drive.

  • Buses will be directed to parking spaces by making their way off campus via South Science Drive, taking a right on Roger Warlick Drive, and then entering campus again on Compass Point Drive, parking along the east bound lane of Compass Point Drive in spots that will be marked by signs. A police officer and Student Parking Attendant will be available to provide direction and assist bus drivers.

  • Pick up point will be at the same location as drop offs.
